ECB Survey of Professional Forecasters Indicates Steady Inflation Outlook

The latest findings from the European Central Bank’s (ECB) Survey of Professional Forecasters (SPF) revealed on Friday that inflation forecasts across various time horizons remained unchanged from the previous round of the poll conducted three months earlier.

Key Highlights:

Inflation is projected to stand at 2.4% for the current year and remain at 2.0% in 2025, 2026, and over the longer term.

Core inflation is anticipated to reach 2.6% in 2024, 2.1% in 2025, and 2.0% in 2026.

There were minimal revisions to economic growth forecasts, with GDP expected to expand by 0.5% this year, 1.4% next year, and in 2026, followed by 1.3% thereafter.
